I have an upcoming long TDY (45+ days) and have had issues with Citi the past couple of years where they don't accept my applications for a GTC. I've already worked with leadership to the point where I was told to either use my personal card or get a cash advance from finance. I've seen a couple of posts where people use their cards and get reimbursed. Is there any advice I can get on what to do on DTS with all that and how long it takes to get reimbursed?

I've heard of people having to do this before but no one in my unit really knows what to do since this is the first time they hear about it. I've brought up the CBA option but that's gone nowhere and the TDY starts in 2 weeks.

    1. There’s no difference on DTS for process, you just select “Personal” for reimburse method. Then cross check at the end that nothing goes to the GTC and it all is coming back Personal.

You definitely should be going on tdys if you don’t have a GTC, and if it’s that important, cash advance should be the only route you take. You’re putting yourself in a bad fucking position by shelling out the cost your(and hopefully not on a credit card) and hoping the government pays you in time.

GTC issue should be rectified or at least find out the reason why they are denying it. And talk to your finance office to start a cash advance.

I repeat, no mission(exception for real world) is worth putting your money on the line, if the military wanted you there…they will figure out a way to make it happen.
