      >U.S. dock workers and port operators have reached a tentative deal that will immediately end a three-day strike that has shut down shipping on the U.S. East Coast and Gulf Coast, the International Longshoremen’s Association union and the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) said on Thursday.

      >The tentative agreement is for a wage hike of around 62%, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters.

      >Both sides said in a statement that they would extend their master contract until January 15, 2025 to return to the bargaining table to negotiate all outstanding issues.

Have they even voted yet to accept it? And what about automation? I think alot of people are running with an offer has been made but ……

This is a shit deal! Going back to the table In January when the election is over, holidays are over, and no one will care! That’s 89% your fucking leverage!!!

It’s over six years, but damn those are still hefty raises every year. 10% raise every year is crazy. You’d go from $100K about $180K during that time.

      That’s fucking WILD.

Haha at least those that bought out all the toilet paper are prepared for explosive diarrhea

    6. Really need to automate the ports in US and Canada.. other ports are so much more efficient with automation

    7. Imagine making $200k a year as minimally trained labor, no healthcare or pension costs. Totally legal, absolutely just. The rest of us aren’t allowed into the club

    8. This isn’t completely over. The Union is standing firm on their position that no job should be lost to automation. If that point doesn’t get met we might see another strike.

    9. I am dumb but how does this address the automation bad sentiment? They are all getting raises cause they will slowly dry up with workers. Every worker lost will supplement the raises given while the corpos bring in automatons to replace said lost workers.

      They are fucked.

Booooom, I knew I should have bought some calls today but got tied up with work. Anyway, happy friday trading and maybe someone can announce peace in the middle east tomorrow to head into the weekend! 🤣

Fuck yah, bout time assholes. Just need the jobs numbers to come in hot and the bears are done for.

Sounds like they have automation well under way. Why else would they agree to a long term raise of 62 percent. Short term fix, long term play.

Just auromate this shit. It’s repetitive, dangerous, and the rest of world has already done so.
