The equity markets turning volatile and with the Government not interested in bringing more SGB tranches, the focus has now shifted to Gold ETFs. In this video, we’ll examine Gold Exchange Traded Funds in greater details including it’s many advantages like price consistency, high purity (99.5% or higher), low ticket sizes, liquidity, low expense ratio, backing by physical gold, buying & selling during market hours etc.

In terms of performance, Gold ETFs have delivered notable returns with the long-term performance of gold hovering around 9%. Gold acts as a hedge during market downturns and as a portfolio diversifier making it indispensable and historical data shows that portfolios with even a small allocation to gold (e.g.,15%) tend to have lower volatility and higher risk-adjusted returns compared to full-equity portfolios

๐Ÿ‘‰ For those interested in investing, the Groww Gold ETF, currently in its NFO phase, offers a simple way to invest in gold. The NFO is open for subscription until October 18th!

    1. Though I'm not a fan of Gold, I think this is a great video. Great work as always! ๐Ÿ™‚

Just wanted to ask: do you have any plans on covering individual stocks on this channel? Like you cover them on your blog and newsletter?

      Thanks! ๐Ÿ˜Š

    2. What are your views on US gold etf investment from India to capture gains in gold price as well as benefit from depreciating rupees in long term

    3. Sir, your comparison table makes no mention about the physical stuff having no counterparty risk and that the paper form is in the system.. all or most of our investments are in the system, perhaps some of it should be in physical form in case there is a glitch in the system?

    4. Great video. And yes, one should always have some exposure to gold along with equity. I feel gold etfs are the best options because of liquidity and lower costs. Keep doing small amount of SIP and put lumpsum amounts when price falls.

    5. Thanks for your hard work again, can you please make a video on silver ( for long term investment ) as well ? Thanks in advance, god bless you.

    6. Hello Sir . Is it okay to go with gold mutual fund as the expense ratio is 0.1% and we can sip in fund rather than holding in demat as the stickiness is high in MF Than Demat account?
