so last weekend i smacked a deer going 70-75 on the highway early in the morning and when I was on the phone with the agent who was assigned to my progressive case, she told me the address on the progressive app wasnt matching up to the address i gave her and told me i need to find anything that shows my name next to my new address and proof of the date i moved in whether it would be a paystub, W2, any bills, lease agreement or anything official but the thing is my paystubs are still showing my old address for some reason, i just moved in august so i dont have a W2 showing it, my roommates name is on all of the bills and it wont let her switch the electric to my name, my mom is in charge of the phone bill, and we took over the lease from a friend so all we have is a leaseholder change agreement that doesnt show any address or move in dates. I feel like im completely stuck and i feel bad bumming rides off of people for work as rideshare apps are too expensive and i cant keep calling in or else ill risk losing my job and continue hurting my income
They’re requiring me to give them proof of residency and i can’t provide it

You moved in August. It’s October. You haven’t updated your driver’s license? You have no bills with that address on it? You may not have an updated W2, but you haven’t updated your address at work so that you can get a recent paystub with the updated address?
Honestly, it sounds like Progressive is really trying to work with you here. They’ve giving you a TON of leeway on providing anything that will show this new address. It does seem very odd that in the last 3 months, you haven’t updated at least one thing in your life that would reflect this new address.
Why haven’t you updated your address on anything?
Is the carrier aware that you live with other people? Are they listed on your policy?
If you had called the insurance in August and told them you were moving like you are suppose to it wouldn’t be an issue now and your car would be getting repaired. Same with your job (by the way your W2 will mail to your old address if you don’t update it)
Have you contacted the leasing office for alternative paperwork?
The leaseholder change agreement isn’t signed? How does an agreement involving who lives where not have the address on it? That’s a big part of a lease…
Bank statements? I have State Farm, and when I moved, they said they would take statements from a financial institution. And if your old address is listed with your bank, just update it and print out something from them with your address on it.
Prescriptions with your updated name on them?
Uhhh the lease?
You failed to maintain your correct address with your insurance company, which it sounds like they are viewing as a material misrepresentation. You may very well have a serious coverage issue on your hands.
Generally if I move I file a change of address with the USPS. They always send a letter of confirmation which I imagine would work here. Doesn’t sound like you did that but I would highly recommend doing that now and in the future. What happens if an important notice is mailed to you at your old address? Change of address is free and important so you don’t miss things.
Go get a library card.
Maybe you can go to the leasing company and ask for any documents they can provide that will show the address.
This is silly. Who cares which address you use? I would just stick to the one you were using to make it easier for yourself
Bank statement? Surely you changed your mailing address on that. Drivers license? Some states let you change your drivers license address online and it prints out a confirmation you keep in your wallet.
