Facebook is under scrutiny from US congress this week after they proposed Cryptocurrency Libra as a new standardised online currency. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was quick to point out Facebook’s past misgivings when it comes to transparency and ethics on their site and questioned the real intention behind this move. While the flames of Facebook’s Libra seem to be quelled for now, many believe it is only a matter of time before this currency is allowed to go forward.
