Was literally looking at buying a new camera that is made in China today. Won’t be spending the money now until after this bullshit is figured out. Uncertainty around pricing on something that has to be shipped (pre-ordered due to being sold out) is keeping me from pulling the trigger.
We are likely already in a recession if not standing on the starting line. Let’s just hope we don’t get a round of inflation too or else the Fed will not be saving us with low rates this time. Tariffs are usually highly inflationary (especially for goods with no alternatives that can be produced domestically for a similar price like coffee, TVs, clothes) If push comes to shove the feds will protect for inflation before they will rescue the economy with lower rates.
That means we will have to look to Congress to do something to save the economy and I suspect they are currently not acting in good faith.
