When the Great Depression hit initially many people were still spending and traveling like before. Same thing when Great Recession hit. People need to study history. Inflation, loss of value of the dollar world wide, and massive loss of money from stocks dropping takes a while to impact everyday people. Plenty of people are ignorant af of current circumstances throughout their lives and will have no idea wtf is going on until it is too late for them to do much about it.
