Buying things has, in one way or another, always been a feature of human society. As societies evolved, the need for a more organized system arose as people started practicing monetary exchange. At this point, goods and services could be exchanged for money that had a prescribed value. Eventually, “middle men”, such as banks, became the go-betweens to validate transactions and record them onto ledgers. In our modern society, the advent of new and revolutionary technology has the potential to drastically change upon this system. Born and raised in Bozeman, Montana, Valerie loves being outdoors, especially in the mountains. Attending school in Deerfield, MA has further expanded her horizons. This emphasis on exploring limits has led Valerie to her interest in the blockchain.
