National Oil Corporation of Kenya-NOCK has kicked off a new initiative that will allow consumers the flexibility to purchase cooking gas according to their financial abilities. The mobile mini-LPG filling plant which will be replicated in other parts of the country will allow consumers to buy smaller quantities of gas ranging from one kilogram rather than the standard, three, 6 and 13 kilogram cylinders. The project is being carried out on a pilot basis, and is meant to encourage the use of cooking gas and reduce reliance on wood fuels. Wanjiru Gaitho brings us that report.
