We’ve got a special technical chat for the Money Miners with Rob “Refractory” Ryan coming onboard.
We run through all the ins and outs of what refractory ore is, what it means for a project, how investors should think about it, what it does to the capex & opex, plus a bunch of real world operations that’ve had to deal with this type of mineralisation.

Great stuff guys
Endeavour Mining are building a Biox Plant for refractory ore at Sabodala mine in Senegal
Boys, can you give us tips on whats the best small cap mining shares to buy? I own Red 5 and Pcl atm.
Really interesting video. Thanks
Another good one boys… keep it up.
And good to see Rob on ur show.
Love these technical discussions. I’ve come across much of the material at different times, but great to hear a clear description of the theory and practical considerations. Awesome job!
Rox Resources RXL is the top pick of the small caps. 3.2m ozs of gold with a market valuation of $84M
RXL has the potential to be a tier 1 gold producer

Albion process is more akin to BIOX process where ore is ultra fine ground to a specified size range and then sulphides cracked than a POX process. Albion is done at atmospheric pressure whilst POX is under pressure…. The successful Glencore plant with this technology for Gold is located in Armenia.
Biggest issue with POX, Albion and BIOX is neutralisation costs associated with all the lime needed to neutralise all the acid generated by these processes. Only method that doesn't do this is roasting where the gases can be captured and turned into sulphuric acid for sale and use by others.
Keep up the great work guys
Great discussion. Would be great to have Refractory Rob back to discuss the complexities of nickel extraction from Gonneville for example from the oxides. More of these technical discussions would be really useful
Another great show guys, a very informative session, with great technical questions. Rob is very knowledgeable !!!
Loved this one, getting deeper into the processing side of things. As a metallurgist, I really hope DeGray gets off the ground as it will give us another really interesting processing facility in W.A.
Good to see Rob out there too, I was an investor in Bardoc Gold a while ago mainly because I liked their plan to do something different, not just the same old GR engineering CIP/CIL plant!
off on tangent : what’s going on with met coal on sgx?? at same time hrc price in usa dips below 700??
whenever i hear “concentrates” i think of china and india trying to fiddle the price for a blend to suit their smelter.. and pay below benchmark metals.
