The Suez Canal has been the central hub of global trade for centuries.
It is not only the lucrative trade between Europe and Asia that runs through it, but it also connects the oil fields of the Middle East with the rest of the world.
How important it is for world economy was shown in 2021 when the container ship Ever Given was stuck in the needle hole for five days and thus forced the entire global supply chain into a deadlock for a short time.
But in this very context, a planned project from Israel won a new place on the rampart.
Because Israel plans to create a new alternative channel between the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.
A real mega-project that could forever change global trade and thus the power relations of the region.
Because this project should not only reduce the dependence on the Suez Canal, but also Israel’s rise to an indispensable regional power level.
So what is the purpose of this daring project? How long can it be completed and how will it change the region forever?
We’ll take a look at all these exciting questions in today’s video. Have fun!

    1. Pay attention @7:21, where it alleges that the canal will BYPASS the Gaza Strip, which is owned by the Palestinian people. It will cost Israel $BILLION in construction costs to bypass Gaza, unless they negotiate with the Palestinians to have this canal run through THEIR land.. Hmm. Why is this 'canal' NEVER mentioned in news reports, especially due to the recent Israel/Gaza conflict? Hmm.
