Most Secure Crypto Wallet (Not Ledger) Full Review

I just received the cipher Rock uh the hardware wallet to store my cryptocurrencies uh they sent it to me so I can test it and record the video and uh I haven’t been paid for this review so it’s going to be unbiased honest review and if you have crypto planning to buy some stick around because in this video I’m going to do a full review I’ll go support security user friendliness and I’ll show you bunch of money so let’s start with unboxing the wallet so it does come uh let’s see what is inside so I like this case not every Hardware wallet has this case so it goes it comes with uh this one 2 three four four cards and control this is control that has the five position up down left right and confirm and it has a cable USB to USBC cable and the adapter so you can connect adapter and connect connect adapter and you can connect USBC to USBC if you don’t have USB on your computer and it has it has something probably to put on the neck it has manual and it has the sleeves so you can put the cards so nobody can scan the information on the card for sleeves you put cards inside put it aside and this is stickers stickers and this is this is manual that shows what is included accessories and uh they have complimentary webcam camera uh web camera cover so if you want to put it on your camera you can put it it’s a nice uh Hardware wallet okay I’ll put it aside before recording this video I read about this Hardware wallet to understand how it work so first we have these four cards uh this all have they built-in NFC antennas which are used to communicate with the X1 W so this is the X1 W so this four cards communicating with this X1 W and it’s uh the your wallet manager crypto so this is how you initiate and approve transactions so this is X1 volt has this button and you will be clicking it to approve and initiate transaction so when you hold up your card to the wallet uh that acts like your as your cryptographic signature so by using the W and conjuction with your card your private key is never exposed to any potential threats online so you don’t connect your wallet to the internet you communicate between the Cards and your wallet directly physically here RFD signal so here’s the xon one wallet screen we will connect and you will see the screen it’s kind of looks small to me here is on X one world a screen and even though the screen looks pretty small but the five-way joystick makes uh the navigating the device pretty easy and I will show you the details how to navigate this how to use this joystick when I show how to set up the device and I have to mention that uh this this device was manufactured at India and it goes with the warranty onee warranty and it’s supposed to last for 20 years and this little joystick designed to withstand a minimum of 500,000 clicks I’ve been using ler Hardware wallet and in comparison with Ledger what I really like about Cipher rock is that unlike Ledger wallet which has only one seat phrase and can manage only one wallet Cypher Rock has four card and each card has a different seat phrase that means that you can manage four different crypto wallets using a single device and Cipher rock is actually advertised as a seedless wallet some people like seedless wallets personally I like to know my seat phrase because if I lose all my cards or they get destroyed somehow without my seat phrase I’m not going to be able to recover my crypto I like to write it down and store it in a safe place and also if you know your seat phrase you can take it and import it into any other brand of Hardware wallet so that means I can take the seat phrase that I created on the cipher Rock and import it into a wallet like Ledger or treaser and still be able to access all of my crypto that way but if you don’t worry about it and you prefer using seedless wallet it’s nice that the cipher Rock has made it optional also another big difference between Cipher Rock and Ledger Hardware W is then that when you create a new wallet using your Cipher Rock wallet is a 24 W seat phrase which is obviously more secur than a 12 w seat phrase for Ledger mainly because you get the additional 12 WS so 12 WS are pretty much secure but 24 wats will be always more secure in addition to the X1 carard and the wallet you also need to download this C sync desktop app which is used to manage all of your crypto so you can download in for Windows Mac or Linux and uh when you receive your Cipher Rock there will be the the address over there the cipher rock.com slgo when you end up on this website there will be button download for Windows and near not your OS download for Mac or Linux so basically as long as you have a desk toop computer then you will be able to use the Cypher Rock Hardware wallet so that said Cypher rock is actually working on IOS and Android app as well so you’ll be able to take your NFC enabled card tap it to your NFC compatible phone and you will be able to access your seat phrase and manage your wallet that way as long as you have your two or your for the cards and uh your PIN code you will be able to use it with your phone and lastly before we continue with how to set up the cipher Rock I would like to talk about additional security so when it comes to security Cypher Rock has done a really good job creating a secure Hardware wallet so most Hardware Wallets on the market offer the same security features but when you create a new wallet using your cipero wallet it actually uses Shamir secret sharing which takes your private key and splits it into different shards and then puts them you know one piece of your Shard goes on one card number one and another one on card number two and number three and number four and then the fif Shard goes onto the X1 world that way your private key isn’t stored on one single Hardware device but rather it’s split across five different devices one more thing is to talk about what Cipher Rock offers that in increases security but can also be a huge risk is a user generated pin so this pin if you create it is required to access your wallet however if you forgot your PIN then you completely lose access to your wallet forever there is no way to recover your PIN Cipher Rock won’t able to help you and there is no like you know hit the button I forgot my pin code reset it uh so that’s why I always say you should record your seat phrase that way if you were to forget your PIN if you have your seat phrase and you could just do a factory reset on the wallet import your seat phrase and you would have your wallet back and then you could create a new PIN okay enough about security let’s talk about coin support currently Cypher Rock supports more than 3,000 assets and 10 different blockchains this includes all erc20 which is ethereum based blockchains and tokens and since I know you are already going to ask me in the comments I’m just going to leave a link to the coins in the description below so you can just go there and search your coin and you will see and this Cipher Rock supports your coin or not and if it supports your blockchain or not so after you downloaded the software from the cipher.com slgo you need to install it if you see right now installing on our computer and once it’s installed what we do the first thing we connect this WT to the computer via the USB to USBC cable which goes uh with Cipher Rock after you install the cipher Rock app for your computer you will see the screen like this uh with the information you click continue and U for this video I’m recording the I’m installing the first time so I will use continue and I agree with the terms of use and and here’s the password you need to put which you will remember or write it down I would highly recommend you to write it down uh somewhere with your seat phrase so you wanton if you forgot it you can always recover otherwise you wouldn’t be able to get access to your wallet and then you need to uh use your SE phrase to to to recover with a new device if you yeah your sync password has been successfully set then they will ask you to put your email recommended to enter email so it’s asking you to connect xol to your PC which we are doing right now with the cable that was provided with the it says welcome follow instruction on the app and you see so uxx VA will now be authentification through Cipher Rock server to check its authenticity so if you see your X1 it’s see show how to use it X1 wall provides four-way joystick for screen navigating toggle joystick up okay toggle joystick right to the right uhhuh down left oh I see gotcha press cool so I figure out so when you so the way it looks so you need to keep it like this so this is will be to the right this is will be to the left up and down so this this is how it goes top card one by below the VA till you hear three beep sound oh okay now taking the second one three bips uhhuh and the last [Music] one okay congratulations we set up so let’s create wallet before we proceed make sure you have all four X1 cards with you close and here’s the button you can add new wallet if you click this button you can as I mentioned you can have with these four cards you can have four four actually Wallets on the same device and uh add wallet so create new wallet if you have bought a brand new Cipher X1 and want to set up a new wallet this is exactly what what I do I continue and I create from the main menu on your X1 wallet click create a wallet and this is you see here it says create wallet cool generate new wallet you will need all cards to create wallet do you want to proceed yes enter wallet name okay I will call ABC wallet confirm wallet name confirm ABC if you got okay got process processing top card number one tap card number two TAP card number three and finally tab card number four [Music] okay the wallet created the next time you need to make a transaction you need to fetch any one X1 card alone with the X1 W in case you lose your X1 volt you can buy new X1 volt separately and use it with your old X1 cards great yeah important notice seat phrase write it down and the next step keep your X1 car card safely inside the card sleeves and distribute them into different places some examples of the places could be homes of your family members or friends secret hideout to add coins and tokens in wallet you have to add an account first make sure you have X1 W and an X11 card handy so now after you wrote down your seat phrase and uh sync your wallet with the app on the computer you need to add account so you click add account and you select let’s say Bitcoin and you click continue and it will show show you on the screen to confirm you confirm tap any card you take a card tap it and if you can see it’s adding the account to your wallet and you click add account done let’s do another one let’s add another account let’s pick the ethereum continue again on your device confirm top any card so you need just any card just one card and uh it will add and by doing so so you adding you can add 3,000 different cryptocurrencies okay singing complet completed and we add ethereum done so we have two so by doing so you can add as many like 3,000 different cryptocurrencies into this wallet and if you want to send or receive cryptocurrency right now you just go to your let’s say Bitcoin and you click button send and then you just follow the continue and then you select how many you want to send and uh you put the address where you want to send it and uh every everything you do you just will be doing confirmation with this device this is the whole point of having this physical device because without this device in hand and without this cards no one can actually send money from you and steal money from your account this is the whole idea of the uh Hardware wallet it’s much more safer than the software which is on your computer and can be accessed from the internet and all your crypto can be stored so this is how it works who would I recommend the cipher Rock wallet to you know well first what I recommend it to I would like to recommend to my friends and family do I trust it enough to recommend it to you know someone who’s close to me yes that’s a yes for Cypher Rock so I would recommend this to my friends and family but in terms of user friendliness like could a beginner pick this wallet up and use it I would say that pretty much yes it’s pretty much user friendly you know even if you never used a hardware wallet before I would say as long as you have some experience using a hot wallet like trust wallet or maybe metamask then you’re going to be just fine setting up the Cypher wallet and using it to manage your crypto the setup process can seem like a little bit tedious really just because you’re scanning all four of your cards over and over again but overall I mean the instructions are right there on the screen in front of you so as long as you can follow basic instructions you will have no problem setting up the cipher Rock wallet so the cipher rock is X1 wallet cost right now $199 this is the original price on their website however if you use my discount code in the description
