Complaints from active duty military who have been harassed by debt collectors is up 187% in California and 67% in Texas. For perspective, the national average is up 35%. Why is this? Anyone serving in these states have an idea? Any JAG officers out there seeing this?

It’s because you owe money.. if you owe money and don’t pay you get “harrassed” so they get their money back. That’s how it works
Maybe, like, pay the debts? It’s not harassment if you owe them money.
Maybe the rates are up because people aren’t making enough money? Or they are. But Food, Gas, Rent and Taxes have gone up more
Not sure how it can be classed as harassment when it’s a collector’s legal right to ask for their money. Pay yo debts, people.
California expensive. People are dumb. California got more expensive. People still dumb. People owe more money.
Still probably less harassment than something red on ASIMS.
