GPT is horrible in logic and math. People need to understand LLM predicts the most probable words in their response and doesn’t have any understanding what’s being asked.
The only time GPT gets their math response right if there exists an exact question on the web or it was trained into the model.

The way to handle this kind of situation is to ask ChatGPT to create a python code to run the equation 🙂

If you want to do math correctly using gpt, you have to ask it to write the code and then execute the code. Programming languages are the bridge between natural language and math that llm can use as try directly cannot do math.
