I have a nice new low mileage Ford Fusion worth about $25k. I have insurance on it and the other day I backed into my garage and scuffed up the back pretty good. From what I’m seeing online it’ll be around $2,000 or so for all the body work I’d need. My question is would my insurance cover me backing up into a stationary object and would it make sense? I found the following info in my plan- I really don’t know how this works so any advice/explanation would be appreciated!

    Comprehensive

    Deductible: $300.00
    Premium: $184.00

    Collision

    Deductible: $500.00
    Premium: $868.00

New driver need help/advice, not familiar with how this stuff works.

This would be a collision claim as your car struck an object. Your insurance will look at the estimate written by the shop and either approve the estimate or negotiate costs based what is usual and customary in your area. Insurance will then issue payment for the cost of the repairs less your $500 deductible which you will pay to the shop.
