Today is day 1 of Schwab usage for me. I hate this app.

It feels clunky and you have to swipe screens to see the information that you want, instead of being able to have it all in one place at a glance.

Worst of all, there is a massive lag in pricing. TD would keep up in near-realtime. Schwab seems to be using 1998 computers to provide pricing updates.

Anyone else here from TD hating the new Schwab app?

    1. I also got moved today. I found the think or swim app much easier to navigate. Hope this helps.

It sucks. You can still use the thinkorswim app, which is nice. It works much better.

Sadly, it does not get better. What’s more, Schwab doesn’t care. Bad client experience? Schwab does not care.

Whether you were TDA or Schwab, you should only be using the thinkorswim app.

    5. Got migrated today as well. I never used the TD app before, only thinkorswim app, and this is still the same. What additional functionality did the TD or Schwab app give?

It sucks, is there a way to change the time out? I had to re login 20 times today

What platforms are better nowadays? Just because Schwab bought TD Ameritrade doesn’t mean we have to keep our money there. They haven’t earned the business.

The app has come a long way but it’s still trash and the UI still smells like boomers. The fact that I can’t sort my portfolio by Gains have it saved that way hurts me as I’m forced to see all my losses in alphabetical order first. -__-

think or swim is the only reason i didn’t close my td acct long before it got moved.

    10. Oh. God. It’s horrible. It’s almost like a desktop website shrunk down to fit a phone.

I like Schwab’s website a WHOLE lot more vs TD, haven’t tried their app though.

I use my IBKR app. Can’t stand Schwab’s app, only use it to place a trade in my Roth IRA there.

    13. Lol the transition didn’t work for me. Fortunately, I moved a large chunk of my money to Robinhood a while ago.

I moved to ToS and I hate it. Way too complex for what I do, but the Schwab site itself is too simple.

TD had a good middle ground.

    15. It’s fuckin horrible. Today’s my first day. I wanna cry. Gotta switch brokers

The whole interface ar Schwab is trash – we all agree I’m sure

Download think or swim. I actually had the opposite experience today with think or swim since merging with Schwab. I don’t have lag on my platform like I did before the merge and I actually had orders executed quicker

    18. The Schwab app is clunky, yes, but it is a hell of a lot better than trying the desktop version, wtf. It is so slow and clunky on desktop. TD was better all around, yes. I’m considering migrating from Schwab to IBKR or something

Only stayed over with Schwab for the free ToS. Schwab is all shit. Website and app.

When Schwab bought TD Ameritrade, I can only assume they also bought their intellectual property rights. Schwab should have transferred their web users to the TD platform, not the other way around. TD was a lot better. I had an account at Schwab for international trading. Huge mistake. You get better currency conversion rates just going to an airport kiosk, and their ticker methodology is just weird. Not sure if it’s real time or not. Not sure if I should go to E*Trade (Morgan Stanley) or Fidelity. So “hate” might not be the right word. Done?

    21. Have been using since they closed the TD, Schwab app just a third level app, Level 2 gone (probably need to pay extra to get it), pre market data not even show up, it is such worse nightmare. So sad.

    22. Not happy with it or the Schwab rules, they took cash out of my account and wanted to sit on it for a week before I could trade it and actually restricted my account. Its a margin account with zero margin being used. I told the guy if that was their stance I would be closing all 6 accounts and moving the money away. He got on the phone and got my money released immediately and no it was not a few thousand dollars.
