The way a lot of bosses treat their employees. I hated the way they treat others around them. My dad, who owned a successful company for over 40 years, treated everyone with respect. He always told me “there is no hierarchy in a company when it comes to treating people with respect.” In over 40 years, his employee turnover rate was under 1% which is unheard of.

Getting fired. I took a job because I was at the end of my rope. Then got a big client.

      Thinking back.

I was so sad to leave my job, it was truly awesome (at the time).

My wife was pregnant, and as a young man I was lost on how to be a father. I didn’t reallly have my own good example. So I started taking on MORE work while working at the agency I was at.

Eventually I was juggling to much and quit, so I could work from home and be closer to my son.

I now have 3 kids, my wife (of course), [my agency](https://www.24hour.design), and we moved away from the US to France so I could work nights.

Still reflect on the decision, but never regret the decision.

I hope this is useful info.

      I haven’t had a job since 2002.

The straw that broke the camel’s back was when my boss kept changing my daily and weekly targets and goals.

It’s like working for a walking talking fast morphing INTRUSIVE THOUGHT.

Besides, I was making more money doing affiliate marketing (CPA programs where people enter an email into a form and I get paid!) than my job

I got in touch with other affiliate marketers and they started hiring me to help them out with their campaigns. I was just doing it as a side hustle. My main source of income was my own affiliate marketing sites.

It got so busy that in a year, I hopped on a plane and started a 50 person outsourcing company in the Philippines.

I’ve been working for myself ever since.

Seeing my business I started on the side becoming successful. Then getting a paycheck that was 60% lower than the last commission check I got. But yeah, it’s ALWAYS the boss. ALWAYS.

I was mostly traveling 3 weeks per month and if not, commuting 1.5 hours each way into nyc…so I asked to relocate so I could spend more time in a place I enjoy but was denied bc it wasn’t “in my territory”.. neither was nyc lol.. anyway, I was making the company millions and they at around the same time told us they were capping our bonuses even though we had more business to be had…so I left. Guess where I live now 😀

The final straw has been here for me since i was 19 , i been fighting my way out of it since then , 26 and not in a 9-5 but still i have nothing , i dont think anybody truly likes a 9-5 or maybe is just a group ….

Idk my mind cant stand the idea of a 9-5

    8. I’ve literally just quit in the last few days.

Screenshot monitoring for all. Can’t deal with that shit.

The Microsoft Teams call sound was enough to send me into homelessness if it meant never hearing it again

    10. Not one single thing, as I had been planning my exit for a while. But one thing that really pushed me to move faster was that my company had gone through a round of lay offs, which I survived, only to be put into a nearly impossible situation where the only options were to either magically succeed or to fail. To top it off, I asked for a greater role in the sales process, and my boss told me that, while I’m a nice guy, I’m not a bullshitter and clients really like bullshitters. He wasn’t wrong that I’m not a bullshitter, but I went out and started my own company and never felt like I had to bullshit a client into signing a contract.

    11. Staying 2-3 hours late to do work every night then coming in 15 minutes late one morning and getting bawled out for it

    12. For me it was simple. Bullshit and meaningless work. I literally thought to myself I could create way more value with my time than doing monotonous analyst work. If I have limited time on this planet, why would I be spending it this way? No way!

Anyway, I left and never looked back!

I quit last week, I realized that I dont have ADHD and depression when I am not at my job. I dont have an illness, the job is the illness.
