Hey everyone, I just had a question about contracted rates and dental insurance.
When my insurance says they will cover 50% of major dental work, is that 50% of there contracted rate?
If Delta dental covers 50% but there contracted rate is $4000/crown I'd still have up pay $2000.
If Aetna covers 50% but there contracted rate is $3000/crown. I'd have to pay $1500.
Is this correct?
Even If there max coverage amount is $1000/year. I still get the contacted rate which is much cheaper then paying out of pocket. Should I not be looking for percentage covered but looking at which company has the best contracted rate?
