I rented a car a few months ago, ended up getting into an accident. My insurance covered the other vehicle and I sent the rental car repair bill to the company Chase uses. That’s still an ongoing process so not sure how that’s going to turn out.

I’m in the position of needing to rent again for another trip. I’m still subconsciously scarred from two months ago but am not sure if it is worth the money, getting the rental car company’s SLP ($40 trip total) and /or their CDW ($95 trip total).

If I get the SLP, if I understand correctly, that will not void Chase’s Damage Waiver, correct? Since chase is secondary coverage and I’m assuming the SLP would act as primary? I just know my insurance rates will go up eventually and again, I’m scarred from last accident and I’d hate for it to happen again.

Is it ever worth getting the rental car companies stuff?

Depending on your state’s laws, another accident could very well increase your premiums again, regardless of coverage.
