What are the differences between Costco Connect American Family vs just going direct to American Family? Do both allow all the same coverage products and app? I don't get why there's a brand difference?

Costco Connect is specifically for Costco members. American Family is the parent company and offers a variety of products/services. E.g Homesite for home insurance, XXXXXX for Commerical Insurance, etc.

You’d probably pay a bit less going through Costco because the insurance is depending on a lot of buyers.

Think about it. Pick any product that Costco sells then go on Amazon, or the grocery store, and find the same product, same quantity and you’ll pay more for it outside of Costco.

If the World Wide Wicket Company sells a million wickets at $1.00 each to Costco for Costco to resell and they are all delivered to one place and Costco breaks them down and ships them to the stores where they sell for $3.00 each, how much would a wicket cost you if you bought one at the hardware store that stocks a handful at a time? If you say more than $3 each you’d be right.

    3. Different companies under the amfam name. Connect as other said sold through connect (previously were Ameriprise and then acquired by amfam). Also they are not all in the same states, and will in general provide similar coverage and options, but for instance right now AmFam provides telematics options, whereas connect does not atm.

The General is also under the amfam family as well for Auto.
