I know this place is a group of entrepreneurs, but around my area and even outside of it, it’s hard to find like-minded people. Do any of you guys have a group or even something around the area I’m in (if you’re from Ontario)

    Thanks for the replies.

Where do you guys find like minded entrepreneurs

I would also like to find a group of other start up/entrepreneurs in Boston if anyone has ideas!

    2. I work in a co-working space. Try to roam around, visiting as many as possible in your area, you will be surprised how diverse this world can be.

Also meetups, but IMO those are too superficial and sometime a bit self promotional.

would say that you posted to the right place. Make yourself seen like a lighthouse and connect. I’m also looking for like minded entrepreneurs and thought of even hosting a master mind group just to connect and find people like me. If you’re interested, reach out to me and we can chat and find out.

The problem with creating something like this is that you get a ton of impostors who criticize, ridicule, and offer opinions without actual hands-on experience. That’s why associations like YPO, EO, Vistage, and C12 are the best at it. There are actionable requirements in order to join.

If you create something like it, please do sing me on! I love the idea of getting some of the benefits of peer groups or like-minded individuals where collaboration and brainstorming actually mean something.

    5. Locally in St. Louis, I really have enjoyed interacting with EO. They may have a chapter in Ontario. It’s full of growing business owners and i’d recommend it.

Join your local Chamber of Commerce. They usually put on events every month that are attended by local business leaders.

    7. I am also in Ontario. I have primarily met business people through companies I have sold to. Now I am more in retail businesses, so that is less of a thing. There is a group called TEC (?) which organizes entrepreneur groups for networking and peer support. I have looked at it, but it doesn’t seem to be for me.

    8. The only people I find want to be rich quick or want to start a business but not really you know…

I’m also trying to learn how to meet more people interested in business to help motivate and push each other to reach their goals! Feel free to dm

      I’m in Toronto.

      What is your mind like?

I never join groups, I just meet a lot of people anyway. I don’t know.

Maybe wise to find likeminded people also in similar industries so you can cross pollinate a bit.

Depends on where you’re at in your journey. If your business does over $1M/yr you can join Entrepreneurs Organization, over $13M/yr (or something like that) YPO.

I’m a member of EO and love it for the community and meeting like minded entrepreneurs. There’s chapters all over the world and in most cities.

    12. I tried business meetups but those never worked for me. I think local chambers of commerce could be a start and co-working spaces is another one. Also local gyms and other activities like hiking, golfing could be good places to meet more people and then filter from those.

I live in downtown Toronto and an early hire at a YC startup. msg me if you have any questions!

    14. Find local meetups and events. Linkedin can be surprisingly good for this!

There is a weekly “Small Business Owners” meeting at the local community college here. It’s chill just coffee and snacks but there is usually a good turnout of people to talk to. The college has a pretty great business center that’s always willing to help small businesses whether you attend the college or not.
