Sooo, I (F) got myself in a bit of a sticky financial situation and have 25 days to pay back a debt otherwise I’m going to court and getting a default on my account.

Before anyone asks, I literally have no one to ask for this money and am unable to get any form of credit.

My question: if you had to make 3k in 25 days which isn’t impossible but as a beginner, what would you do? I was thinking of creating ebooks, I am writing cv’s on the side but this is too slow! I don’t have any capital from savings etc but do work a 9-5.

2 jobs maybe and possibly maybe add some more side hustles like reselling maybe or iPhone reselling I’d say reselling expensive items Is your best bet at making 3k in a month

    2. snezna_kraljica on

Maybe look in your local job boards? This sub is more about building a business which takes considerably longer than 3k and need rather investment in the beginning than generating money from the start.

    3. Can you get a cash payment from your employer for your annual/ long service leave? Can you pick up extra work with your employer?

Do you have a car or other significant items to sell? Can you negotiate a debt repayment plan? Do you have a spare room to rent?

    4. I was thinking of creating ebooks that make 3K in 25 days (…including writing them).

      LMAO brother.

Not meant to be an a-hole here but literally take any job as soon as possible, even McDonald’s. Everything else will spectacularly fail. I can tell by this sentence alone.

What are you good at? Are you physically able-bodied? Throw up an ad for manual labor in high demand like house painting, trash removal, house cleaning (like airbnb turn overs). Can you do handy man tasks? Those pay starting 50/hour in most areas. Construction type jobs are your best bet for immediate start and reasonable pay. You just have to make slightly more than 100/day.

Sell all the stuff you don’t need. Maybe even big stuff you do need. Look for some cash jobs. Go door to door offering services like cutting lawn, clearing trash, washing cars, etc. You’re not going to get $3k from writing an ebook. You need quick cash, so that means real work.

Have you tried negotiating with the lender? Offer $500 a month and live frugally. I assume you have a job.

For others, this is why you need an emergency fund. It’s also good to set up an overdraft facility when you don’t need one, assuming you’re grown up enough not to use it except for an emergency.

Also, don’t take on debt and then these situations won’t arise.

Ther’s probably more to this story because you don’t usually go straight to court. You can negotiate with creditors. I assume the OP has already done that.

    7. I think realistically if you need to make that much money in those few days with no overheads I’d consider prostitution or hail mary high ticket selling. Getting a new business up to that figure in under a month is really hard

Like others have said, don’t look online. Get 2/3 minimum wage jobs and just bang them out for 20 days with loads of caffeine

    8. You’re female just start an Only Fans and pretty sure you’ll make at least $10k by then.

I don’t pretend to be an entrepreneur but there was once this fancy pew pew I wanted and felt idiotic paying so much out of pocket for. Drove Uber and lyft like a mad man for 2 weeks and had 2k in profit. That was a little less than half the money I needed but then I felt silly making conversation with strangers and wasting my sleep when I had the money in the bank. So get both apps, watch a couple YouTube videos on maximizing challenges or whatever promotions they have going and get it done.

Let me get this straight.. you have to pay a debt in 25 days. But you do not currently own a business, you would be starting from scratch within those 25 days?

I would be looking at getting any kind of elbow grease random jobs, see who needs help in construction, or cleaning if you have no experience in construction, yard work, car detailing,
Go to a temp agency, and tell them you will do whatever, 7 days a week, whatever shifts.
Come to think of it, working in a factory, night and weekend shifts, preferably combined, makes you a monthly wage in just the weekends, you can use the weekdays to find other random jobs.

That’s the safest, quickest way to get to hit your target.
It’s just three weeks. Who needs sleep in that time?
Now is not really the time to be ‘thinking of writing books’ (and probably using AI for it, because I think that everyone in professional writing would be offended, if you really think ‘thinking of writing a book’, within 3 weeks, and getting paid 3K before 3 weeks, including writing it, would be realistic.)

    11. You wouldn’t make $100 with ebooks in 25 days.

Take on extra hours at your job if you can.
       Get a second job.
      Clean people’s homes.
Join Uber and or task rabbit.

Do some big shifts at a job! – honestly easiest and least risky. – coming from an entrepreneur of 10years. Otherwise flip things on Facebook marketplace or do odd jobs for people, you can get paid a lot for cleaning hoarding etc.

    13. hacksinindie on

If the consequences weren’t so dire, bang out different businesses. More guaranteed way, pick up as many jobs as possible and work work work. Secondly, sell as much of your own good as possible , facebook groups and ebay in my experience have allowed me to literally sell anything!

    14. chinesiumjunk on

Get a job and work. Then work some more. Then when you’re tired, work even more. Oh, and work after that. Then wake up and work.

    15. Get a $36,000 / year salaried full time job, which is literally any full time job.

Here are some ideas to hustle those $3k in 25 days:

Sell unused stuff: Clothes, furniture, electronics – [r/SellMyStuff] might help.

Freelance gig sites: Upwork, Fiverr offer quick project opportunities for your writing skills.

Dog walking/pet sitting: Rover or local listings could bring in fast cash.

Donate Plasma: It’s not glamorous, but some centers offer decent compensation.

      Focus on high-volume, fast turnaround:

E-books take time. Consider these instead:

Tutoring: Highlight your writing skills and offer crash courses to students.

Content Creation: Write blog posts or social media content for businesses.

      Be upfront with clients:

Explain your situation and offer a discount for faster turnaround.

      Good luck!

    17. Focus on quick wins, and do it yesterday! Do not waste any more time, as you are on a very tight deadline.

Sell unused items immediately. Clothes, electronics, furniture – anything of value. Use platforms like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or eBay.

Offer services that utilize skills you already have – writing, editing, tutoring, pet care, etc. Use platforms like Fiverr or TaskRabbit.

Gig work, gig work, gig work! Delivery services (DoorDash, Uber Eats), temp agencies, or odd jobs through sites like TaskRabbit can bring in quick cash. Do it now!

Maximize the CV writing. Reach out to your network for referrals, advertise on social media, or offer discounts for bulk orders.

Medical quickies are important to look into. Plasma donation can be a viable option for quick cash. Research local donation centers (Grifols, CSL Plasma) for requirements and compensation rates. Remember the first time takes longer. Also make sure you have proof of residency, SS card, and ID/DL in hand. Short, clinical trials could be viable too, ESPECIALLY if they give cash up front.

Default and start fresh. Your stress levels aren’t going to let you do shit and you’re probably not going to make your deadline anyway.

No amount of bootstrapping and Reddit optimism is going to override reality.

    19. Put $1500 down to on a new construction in Fredericksburg VA. Two days before settlement I need additional $11k-shady loan officer at BB&T bank.
List price was $150k when I put initial money down, and now the same model is going for $270k.

Went to car max with my TL and got a check. Deposited check into atm and funds were available immediately. Closed at 11am on my settlement day and then closed at 3pm for the buyer

    20. Get a second job. Get a $3k loan from a bank and pay back the original debt. This sounds like a 2-3 month problem depending on how serious you are.

    21. Genuine solution: do you have old or unused stuff you can get rid of? Sell the stuff on Facebook Marketplace. Most people have at least couple of hundreds $ worth in stuff they can get rid of.

Will it amount to 3k? Probably not but it will help you little on the way.

Next is to scale this by asking family and friends if they have stuff they want to get rid of. There’s even a free stuff section that you can get and resell it.

Second solution is to get actual gigs.

    22. Go deliver pizza or wait tables after your 9-5, I did that when I was in a pinch and made like $90-100 a night for a 4 hour shift (hourly + tips)

    23. Honest-Finish-7507 on

Get a hospitality job that pays crazy in tips – any hotel server job (after the first week) will start paying up $200 a day. Problem is that summer is here and the season is slow. Look for high paying part time gigs imo
