Wanting some opinions and insight on things I may have missed. Have an opportunity to go AGR. Currently 18 years in the NG and 13 years as a T5 technician. With all things great about AGR, I feel like I am on the fence in regards to retirement.

Below are several COAs I've thought of. Keep in mind these numbers are using current pay charts and somewhat rounded for simplicity.

    Couple things to note:
    1. Not including:
    – Social Security
    – Additional State Retirement

    1. Current TSP :
    2. Tech is traditional, contribute 15%, 100% C Fund
    3. Military is Roth, contribute 15%, 100% C Fund

    4. Military Retirement Plan is BRS (yep, bad decision for switching but here I am)

    Here are my COAs:

    1. Tech Option (retire @ MRA GS13)
    2. $140k x 36% (34 YOS + 2 AD Service)/ 12 = $4,200 per mo
    3. Retire CW4 w/ 30 YOS (3650 pts)
      $117,600 x 10% (3650รท360) x 2.0 (BRS)/ 12 = $1,960 per mo
    4. Estimated total pension: $6,360.00 per mo
    5. TSP: will increase 5% after each promotion for both tech & military

    6. AGR Option 1 (retire CW4 @ 20 YOS AD w/ 33 TIS)

    7. $117,600 x 44% (20 Yrs AD + 2 Yrs 1405 time x 2.0 BRS) / 12 = $4,312 per mo

    8. Go back to civil service (retire @ age 60 GS11)
      $88k x 23% (21 YOS + 2 AD Service)/ 12 = $1,686 per mo

    9. Estimated total pension: $5,998 per mo

    10. TSP: will increase military to max out contribution. No change for tech.

    11. AGR Option 2 (retire CW4 to age 60 with 29 YOS AD w/ 41 TIS)

    12. $117,600 x 62% (29 Yrs AD + 2 Yrs 1405 time x 2.0 BRS) / 12 = $6,076 per month

    13. Retire GS11 w/ 13 YOS
      $88k x .15 (13 YOS + 2 AD Service time bought back) / 12 = $1,100 per month
Estimated total pension: $7,176 per mo

    14. TSP: will increase military to max out contribution. No change for tech.

My thoughts: Option 1 has a nice pension and could increase if I make it up to GS13 and/or stay longer in the NG. Option 2 is nice with maxing out TSP and pension could increase if I make it up to GS12 after discharge. Option 3 doesn't seem likely to happen but not impossible.

What are your thoughts on regards to retirement?

    Thank you for your time.
