I just received an email today from our insurance agent stating that, according to our homeowners insurance company, our home is vacant and we should sign a cancellation form. They said that they received return mail stating that the home was vacant.

Our home isn’t vacant. We are living here full-time. We have no other residence and we haven’t been on an extended (more than a week) vacation since December 2023.

I wrote back to our insurance agent stating as much. But do I need to take further action, like actually calling the agent and making sure everything will be Ok, or some other action? (I know you should never call the insurance company directly).

BTW, This is in FL where getting homeowners insurance is a huge deal.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Homeowners Insurance apparently believes our house is vacant, but it is definitely not vacant. What to do?
