Insurance asking for credit history release after stolen vehicle

So my car was stolen off my driveway 3 am in the morning last week and been dealing with insurance. I justreceived a form asking for my authorization to release my credit history. I want to know if this is normal process of the procedure since my friend told me not to. Does my credit going to get hit (never late on payment with 800+) if I agree and does it delay the claim process if I dont agree?
