Getting a car hauler trailer and putting my wife's van on it. I know the regs say the weight of the van shouldn't be included in house hold goods. I think our limited items we're moving with plus the van will be well below 14k lbs. How would uncle sam know the van was part of the weight?

Weight ticket 1 will be the truck and the trailer empty. Weight ticket 2 will be truck, trailer, van, all loaded.

    Chances of success?

    1. I saw a Lt Col court martialed for this. Don’t be creative. Fraud is fraud.

Yes, how will uncle sam know you are committing fraud. Let’s ask the big questions.

Money isn’t worth the end of your career. Also be prepared for an audit. How do you plan to explain it when you can’t produce the amount of items to make up the weight?

    3. Committing fraud on a PPM is dumb, it’s not worth potentially being a felon for $3k.

Even dumber to post it on a Reddit page where your post history says your wife is a surgeon. I hope she runs her practice more ethically than your are trying to run your separation move…

    4. You are not the first person to have this idea. Don’t think that you are smarter than a system that has definitely thought this through.
