I’m wondering if SCRA applies to collections . So basically I joined in Feb of 23 and i didn’t learn about scra until Nov. I contacted one of my CC lenders to apply the SCRA benefits in Dec 23 and they told me they would get back with me ,however in Jan 2024 I called back and apparently they sold my debt to a collector and they stated they couldn’t do anything about it . So i Called the Collector and they stated that they couldn’t apply the Benefits. would anyone have any advice on how to proceed with this?

May want to ask legal. It *should* apply, but I don’t know for sure if the debt collector can forgive interest accrued by the original debtor….as I’m not positive they track that interest separately from the balance they know of when they buy the loan.

Which benefit? Do you have a payment plan that you’re trying to reduce the interest rate? Or do you not even have that set up yet?
Set up and appointment with legal and get some help drafting an email to the debt collector. I don’t see why it wouldn’t apply to a debt collector if you otherwise qualify
