Hello. I bought a car a week or 2 ago and the guy who sold it ended up lying about a bunch of issues, and hid them, so I ended up losing out on a couple thousand dollars in the end by having to “sell it” to someone who said they’ll fix and resell. I had it insured under Progressive for like 3 days, and obviously have to cancel it since I no longer own the car, and now apparently owe $200. For 3 days. I’m assuming there is nothing I can do, my fault for buying a faulty car and insuring it, but if you have any suggestions let me know. I already lost out of $2000 to a fraud and I don’t know how much more I can take. Thanks.

My suggestion is call progressive and see what they say.
Early cancellation fees are uncommon but do exist. If your policy doesn’t have them, you’ll only owe for the days the policy was in place. Your monthly bill *probably* wasn’t $2,000 so there’s either an early cancellation fee or a miscommunication somewhere
Call Progressive and ask them exactly what the $200 is
Progressive is known to have an early cancellation charge. It’s $50 minimum, at least from my own experience. Call and ask, or ask your agent, if you have one
