My dad passed away a few weeks ago. Now my mother is trying to get the life insurance he had to help her out with the bills etc etc. But my father’s Dr won’t sign the papers saying he had a heart condition so she can continue with the paperwork for the life insurance

She goes up there everyday and doesn’t get any answers

What should her next step be ?

What to do if Dr won’t sign paper

There must be a reason why the life insurance company is requiring additional forms. Usually the death certificate is sufficient. Can you with your mother call the life insurance company on speaker or 3-way and ask them to explain why a death certificate is sufficient? An alternative is for your mother to mail a letter to the doctor with the forms explaining why the additional forms are required to collect the death proceeds. Mail it Registered/Certified with Signature Required (paper trail). Anytime someone gets something official like registered/certified, it gets their attention.
