We had a tree fall on our house during a bad unexpected storm. We had major damage to our roof, which has caused major holes in our roof, that qualified us for a large amount from insurance. They keep asking me if we need to clear it with our mortgage company. We don't owe much left on our mortgage and really don't want to create another obstacle to jump through, dealing with state farm has been a headache enough. I just wanted to see if I really need to reach out to my mortgage company, I have never heard of having to do that before.
