I am 18 years old and recently enlisted in the military national guard as a reserve, I was wondering if I should start financing a 20k car after my basic training or get a 5-6k car first and use it until I can buy the car I want.

Well that’s kinda tricky because national guard and reserves don’t really provide you a consistent income? So this isn’t really a military finance question, and is more a question of what finances do you currently have? Do you have any savings or debt? Do you have a civilian job and what is the income from that?
My immediate answer is get the 5-6k car til you save up for the one you want in a few years.
