So, I had a not so great day yesterday that resulted in my car being damaged 2 different ways, just hours apart.

The first incident was scraping my driver side door against a pole, resulting in scratching and dents all across the driver side. I was in a tight spot stuck between a semi-truck and a pole, and was pressured to just try to inch through by another driver (we were at a gas station, and I was taking up a pump by waiting). I ridiculously fell under the pressure against my better judgement because I'm a people pleaser with anxiety. I recognize thay this incident was entirely my fault. The damage appears entirely cosmetic.

A couple hours later, near 10pm, I was driving on the freeway when a metallic looking object appeared on the road. I saw it last second, and could not swerve without risking hitting a car on either side of me. I hit it, and it basically took out my front bumper.

I'm looking for advice. This is my first accident(s), and will be my first time ever dealing with insurance, and this whole experience has left me so anxious & paranoid about the process. So far, I just filed a single claim for the front bumper because it seems more serious, and I'm worried that there may be more hidden damage to the undercarriage. I have an inspection scheduled already. Would it be worth pursuing a seperate, and second claim for the first incident? I know this will reflect terribly on me as a driver, and to my insurance company. I use Geico and have been with them for about 8 years now. I have a full coverage, comprehensive policy. I barely have the budget for my deductible as it is, would I need to pay it again for the second claim? I tried to review my coverage, and am unsure if this will be covered. I recognize that both incidents are considered collisions. There was no one else in the car, it's still safe to drive, no other property damaged (the pole was unscathed), and no other vehicles involved. I did not involve police, didn't think to report to them until I came upon the question in my claim. I live alone, and don't have much in terms of friends or family that I can turn to for this, so any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.

If it's relevant, I live in California, and both incidents took place in LA County.

    Thank you in advance.

Filing 2 claims in one day for seperate incidents, Is it worth it?

It would be two at fault collision claims and two deductibles. So, your logic is correct, if you can live with the cosmetic damage, consider not filing the second one, just don’t try to claim it later.

Ps, California has a reconsideration for a hazard that can’t be avoided such as you described, worth trying

    2. Can you afford to just pay the damages yourself or will it put you in financial peril? You’re going to have a bad time with 2 different claims in one day. A very very bad time.
