Apologies if this is the wrong place. I’m getting super confused as far as residency on my FAFSa. I got out of the military in 2022, during that time I claimed CA as my legal residency. My husband is still active duty, he claims Colorado as his legal residency. We are currently stationed in VA where we own a house and both of our cars are registered. The college I’ve applied to has me down for out of state tuition (which will be changed to in state after I submit the paperwork). But I don’t know what state to put for my legal residency on my FAFSA and if I do use VA I am unsure what date to use for “date the student became a legal resident of Virginia”. Any advice?
