Passing through the Suez Canal onboard the Costa Toscana

    this is the view from one of the skywalks on the Costa Toscana of the boats waiting outside the SE Canal all of these lights are boits waiting to enter the Su Canal it is 300 a.m. in [Music] [Applause] [Music] he [Music] ah [Music] this is the entrance to the Suz Canal this is port side Egypt this is a coastal Road [Music] [Music] ah We are following this boat a container the boat Vel this is the Lighthouse of Coast Guard directing you where to go so there’s a light [Music] here in between lights this light this light red light then green light this is there a b of port [Music] these are coastal roads it’s 5:38 a.m. local time okay there a building coming up here a [Music] [Music] we are in the suas canal and it is extremely foggy [Music] this is the 5th of December 202 we are in the Su now on board the Costa Toscana de 18 and you can see his gges [Music] here and in the distance here Mainland Egypt so probably 80 km straight from here is Cairo and the pament of Giza but this is a su [Music] Canal as you can see some parts some parts are quite shallow but you can see sand banks so you got keep it between these markers otherwise [Music] us let’s go to the inside they preparing for some activity there’s another cargo vessel at the rear of us it is tag following us you see these markers here and then there’s another set of markers right here so this is your shpping Lane a glass deck walkway [Music] another glass walkway 18 stories above the ocean or rather the mediteran [Music] sea that’s all land very close [Music] to those are the MERS I was talking [Music] about this is the Suz Canal the inside of the S Canal there many dredges along the canal which are picking up sand from the bottom of the ocean there’s a large container ship following behind us as well as a tub [Music] Port the water is quite shallow you can see the sand in that part and this side is Egypt and Kyo you can see the towns just long [Music] [Music] [Music] these are all almost like Lane markers all of these things placed in Ocean in the narrower part of the canal only one ship can par pass through at a time there is a another container ship right in front of us and more [Music] dredges from the glass on the Skywalk we can see the SE can now on this side land is pretty [Music] [Music] near it’s only a few hundred met away and there more pipes sticking out of the earth see these are farms along the canal there’s a house over there [Music] this silos here that Green [Music] [Music] Building BS here looks like they pled something they have a green field and a [Music] silar inia caners also sailing on SE [Music] arrived at the first town or we’ll be passing the first town as you can see there are many houses along here and Farms [Music] [Music] this is the view from the front of the [Music] ship We are following a container ship and this is the land it is a welcome to Egypt sign in front of this person’s house [Music] oh [Music] [Music]

    This video shows the entrance and subsequent sailing through the Suez Canal. Entry was near Port Said at about 5am in darkness followed by thick fog and then a pleasant smooth sailing through the canal.
