I'm going overseas, but I don't understand what this means. It can't be that I'm supposed to drive there, right? Can someone explain this to me?

You have to get to your port of call somehow. Generally speaking if you fly anywhere you’re only given a single travel day, but in this case you specifically get a day per every 350 miles between start point and port of call

    2. If you’re going to Alaska, driving is an option.

If you’re going somewhere else, you’ll have to fly at least the over the ocean part.

The JTR has all the info on how to calculate travel days based on your mode of transportation. Your orders should also say if there is a prescribed mode of transportation and how many days you get.

Have you attended the PCS class on your installation or talked to your sponsor?
