General Liability and Workers Comp Insurance

Hello, I'm about to be a 1099 Independent Contractor for a company to do some consulting work. The contract they provided stated that I'd need General Liability and Workers Comp insurance throughout and 2 years thereafter. When I asked for clarification, they said I can opt not to have it.

I will commuting to the office 2 times a week (sometimes none) and 3days working from home. There is no heavy machinery or equipment involved. Company laptop is provided.

With that said, do I really need these insurance? If yes, what do you recommend? Any tips and guidance will be so much appreciated!
