Yes, yes, I know, she signed up for exactly what she got. She shouldn’t have done that. She was warned what would happen if she didn’t complete the courses on time. I know. We know. It’s very embarrassing and we’ve already talked about this.

Moving on, while I was deployed last year my wife (also a service member) signed up for multiple Lean Six Sigma courses with a Career Academy rep which she met at my yellow ribbon event, under the understanding that the Credential Assistance program would pay for them. Fast forward a year, and she has not completed any of the programs due to the variety of difficulties she has experienced while I was deployed. She reached out to the company hosting the courses for an extension, and they said she has to work with our education office. Education office says there is nothing we can do and to talk to the company offering the courses.

That’s where we’re at now. Does anyone have any advice for facing down this issue, whether it’s ways to get an extension, getting a grant, negotiating a payment plan, or just dealing with the fact that we’re taking on $4k worth of pointless debt?

    Thanks in advance.

Wife got caught up in a CA scheme while I was deployed- do we have any options?
