So I had a claim that was deemed at fault where I swerved my car off the road due to black ice a while back. I asked the insurance company and researched my case and seems to be right. Apparently only weather related incidents where it can’t be at fault are things like hail. I understand it’s my responsibility to keep the car at a safe speed and under control during ice storms but if I genuinely couldn’t do anything about it (I was driving slow and the ice was not visible at all to me) then why am I at fault?
