Would I be in any hot water for not reporting and just removing the car from my insurance? I'm in over my head right now and any advice is appreciated, thanks!

No. Nothing they can do. You don’t have the coverage.
Was this a single vehicle accident? Do you own the vehicle?
You need to give the circumstances of the accident in order to get accurate advice.
If you didn’t cause damage to anyone else’s property, you won’t need to report to your insurance.
