Can I remain apart of my parents car insurance if I change my permanent residence to a different address than them because of college?

I plan to change my permanent residence to a different address, which is where I am staying for college. Would I be able to stay on my parents car insurance or would there be problems that would arise from this.

I am a full time student and the car I would be driving is registered in my dad's name.
