VA Home loan with Bad Credit

Been building it up but now I'm an officer and have now built my credit up to 640. Maybe less now that I have a hard pull on my credit for a car I decided not to buy. But its getting there and within about a year I will plan to buy a home at my first duty station. My debt to income ration by the time I would purchase would be actually zero. given I'll have literally no payments on anything as far as I'm planning within the next 6 months. So what would my options possibly be?
