Enlisting in the AF and I ship out in about 2 weeks. It was only last week that my recruiter sent me information/paperwork for the first time asking if I had student debt and was interested in the Enlisted College Loan Repayment Program (ECLRP).

Long story short, he said I needed to submit a Master Promissory Note (MPN) no less than 15 days before shipping out, otherwise he can not process my application and I will never get a chance again once I have entered service. I contact the DoE, my loan provider, and my old college campus…. all say no they can not send it to me, and because it contains sensitive personal info my only option is to file a FOIA request to get it (which will take more time than I have).

Am I really out of options here? Feels like my recruiter dropped the ball, and now I am stuck with a big chunk of debt that I would otherwise have been relieved of. Any other way to apply to student loan forgiveness programs after I am already enlisted?

TLDR: Recruiter said I had about 1 week to submit required paperwork to be eligible for student loan repayments, but the DoE says that paperwork will take multiple weeks to receive. Was that my last option for student debt forgiveness, or can I try applying once I'm already serving?

Recruiter is saying its too late to enroll is the ECLRP (student loans repayment)?
