I’m currently in the Marine Corps stationed in Camp Pendleton. I do most of my shopping at the PX and I saw you get 2x points on all purchases with the Starcard. I heard a lot of bad things about the card, but I’ll be able to pay it off each month. Just wondering if anyone loves the card, and how easy it is to pay off and ect.

    Is the Starcard worth it?

    1. There are two types of purchases available with Military Star –

**Clothing**:  Boots, uniforms, gloves.  0% interest and you can get a new pair of whatever when you come back from the field knowing you can pay off the balance next pay period.

**Retail**:  Televisions, electronics, couches, and washer / dryers.  With an astronomical APR that will likely ruin your ability to pay off the card and you’ll be forced to make minimum payments for 5 and 1/2 years on something that cost $300.

This is why you hear good news / bad news about the card. Either way, it helps you build credit.
