Spouse is Active Duty and I am in the Reserves. We are stationed OCONUS, so she gets OHA. If I deploy as a reservist, would I get OHA on top of hers? I know for dual AD spouses stationed together, OHA doesn’t allow double dipping.

Wondering if as a reservist I should “move back stateside” to my parents and deploy from there, so I get BHA. And have my spouse change their OHA to “w/o dependents”.

It would suck to deploy for 9 months and miss out on BHA just because I’m already living OCONUS.

    1. Reservists on deployment get a housing allowance based on their primary residence. If that is your overseas location, you would get OHA and all the usual rules would apply.
