I purchased a home 6 months ago using my VA loan. Now, i am eligible for a refinance.
My lender keeps blowing up my phone wanting me to refinance because “rates have gone down”, which they haven’t at all.
Obviously they just want the commission but they keep telling me it’s completely free.
I’ve bought houses before joining the army and never heard of a free refinance unless the closing costs are rolled into the new mortgage, which means it’s not free lol.
My question is, is refinancing a VA loan free?(meaning zero closing costs) And, do i have to refinance with the same lender i originally got the mortgage through?
Edit: yes i see rates have dropped, i should’ve said, “they haven’t dropped enough for me to refinance”

It’s not free. Rates have dropped. You can use any lender.
Ignore the calls until rates go down 1.5-2%
