Free military bags on Aeromexico operated flight even though I purchased through Delta

Just purchased a flight from LAX-GDL through Delta, and the flight is operated by Aeromexico.

I have gotten free bags on every Delta flight I’ve been on due to my military status, but not sure if I will on this one.

Since I purchased the flight through delta, can I still check in at the Delta desk and receive free bags even if it is not operated by them? The agent via the phone didn’t really know either.

Wasn’t sure where else to post this. Remove if not allowed
