Israel’s $55BN Plan to Surpass the Suez Canal

as the Palestine Israel war continues to rise another controversy arose and it’s taking the news by storm this Mega project was planned way back in the 1960s by Israel and now that the trade is getting halted for Israel it’s their only escape from other countries the plan made decades ago is now resurfacing and according to experts this project is a dream come true for Israel it’s so important that it could enable Israel to trade in one of the most significant waterways without getting interfered with by the yemeni hus but what exactly is this new project and why is the Suz Canal a name that keeps coming up again and again join us on this journey as we unfold the reimagined benorian canal and if you enjoy the video make sure to give us a subscribe and get more updates the Suez Canal is the most critical water away in the world it provides the shortest Maritime route between Europe and Asia however before the Suz Canal ships had to travel long and dangerous routes across Africa’s capee of Good Hope currently the Suez Canal saves a lot of time and resources for different ships this canal is so necessary that it has an average annual cargo volume of nearly 1.5 billion this was reported between 2020 and 2023 to make things even more interesting it is estimated that 12% of global trade travels through the canal itself which is a feat in itself but now there’s a new canal in place that is just parallel to the Suez Canal and experts are saying that it could completely reshape the Suez Canal’s dominance not only that but this would also have a huge impact on global trade but after a lot of abuse on the Suez Canal waterways Israel is now on a mission to make its own Canal that would rival its competitor however there’s a big issue with this plan as Gaza is in the middle of the proposed path of the new Israeli Canal now a lot of people are wondering if this was the secret reason behind the Israel Palestine War but before we dive deeper into the benuron canal we must understand the importance of the Suz Canal the Suz Canal is artificial and was built to connect the two important Seas the Mediterranean and the Red Sea this was one of the most essential shortcuts for shipping between Europe and Asia back in the 19th century this canal was a massive engineering Marvel and a project only experts could handle the project took over 10 years to complete and tens of thousands of workers were needed to complete it after a long and hard effort the Suez Canal officially open opened in November 1869 with some of the biggest celebrations we’ve ever seen moreover the canal was a huge success which reduced the journey from Europe to Asia by thousands of miles and saved days for ships to travel from one continent to the other this also provided a substantial economic boost to Egypt and other countries in the same region but today the Suez Canal is one of the most important water ways in the history of trade it handles millions of tons of cargo while boosting the global economy currently the canal is worth a whopping $9.4 billion to Egypt however imagine you’re at the top of the world and someone suddenly wants to make the same product parallel to your shop that would have a harmful impact on your business right well that’s precisely what Israel is planning to do now we move back to the origins of the benorian canal this plan was initially proposed back in the mid 1800s the British initially approved this plan to create a trading Canal from the Dead Sea to the Red Sea but in 1955 willan Allen a Navy officer proposed this unique plan parallel to the Suez Canal his plan was genius as it would connect three important water bodies including the Red Sea the Dead Sea Sea and the Mediterranean Sea what’s more interesting is that the Suz Canal was in the works and wasn’t complete at the time this plan would save everyone a bunch of time and money this plan initially told everyone that the Israeli Canal would connect the Mediterranean Sea with the Gulf of akaba then it would be associated with the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean however this plan didn’t go through and in 1963 the US responded by digging up the Israeli canal in response to the Egyptian Canal but this plan wasn’t put forth either and the world only learned about the Israeli canal in 1994 this canal would be named after the first Israeli president David benuron in the modern era Israel announced that it would work on the benuron canal this new Canal is a massive threat to Egypt’s economy Egypt is an established country with an extensive trade volume from around the world however in its defense Israel is counterarguing that this route is perfect for ships that get restricted due to their size increasing the World’s Trade volume even more once completed this canal would be 257 km compared to the 193 km long Suez Canal this route will be onethird of the time moreover constructing this Behemoth would cost a staggering $55 billion but that’s where it gets interesting whoever controls this massive multi-billion dollar Canal will also control International Trade according to Israel they are projecting $6 billion a year which could potentially bring their investment back in a couple of years to make things more interesting Israel will have the largest artery connecting the Red Sea with the Mediterranean moreover recently we saw a lot of disruption in world trade that happened due to the Israel Palestine War if this canal gets built the world wouldn’t have to stop trading because now they’ll have an alternate route to follow that would arguably be more efficient than the Suez Canal the key highlight of the benorian canal is that unlike the Suez Canal it can handle ships going in both directions this will be done by creating two canals moreover the Israelis will have rocky walls that require almost no maintenance unlike the Suez Canal’s Sandy Shores but that’s not where it ends Israel plans to build small cities hotels and even nightclubs along the canal but when we talk about its construction things get even more enjoyable once completed this canal will be 200 m in width and F 50 m deep the Suez Canal is 10 m deeper than the Israeli benuron this means that a ship with 300 M and a length of 110 M would easily be able to pass through the canal however like any other Mega project built after some of the deepest research methods and planning the benorian canal faced the same challenges the first process would be excavation which means digging up the Earth and rock to create a water pathway after the excavation process water will be provided through external sources that would make it possible to fill up the canal then we have the dredging process which deepens and widens the canal if the plan for the beneran canal begins dredging will be done using specialized Machinery which will remove any excess debris or material ultim Ely this would make the canal perfect for ships without any serious trouble moreover there’s a massive chance that locks and Gates might be used to control the water flow and the water levels in the canal but this begs the question how long would it take for the benan canal to be made it would take about 5 years to complete along with 300,000 engineers and technicians moreover a controversial aspect of this project is that it would take around 520 nuclear blasts to excavate more than 160 Mi of the Waterway to be built this was also a plan that the US proposed a lot time ago once that is done Israel will place spying devices at the depth of the canal and monitoring devices at the heart of the canal this monitoring system will keep an eye on the biggest ships that carry weapons and photograph them as they pass through the canal while things look suitable for this canal one of the most significant downsides of building this canal is that it has no pre-existing Waterway to dredge unlike Suz unlike the Suz Canal it would be a big job to get rid of all the land and then fill it with water to make an artificial Waterway other than that the other governments and countries forcing the shutdown of this project will also create many challenges for the Canal’s Construction all in all it’s going to be an interesting project that is facing many challenges however with Israel’s engineering they are fully capable of completing this project and bringing it to light in less than a decade what do you think about the benorian canal will its constructions ignite Wars or will it become the most significant Waterway with the highest trade volume
