I can’t for the life of me understand prime day. It’s really something for marketing students to study, hype the shit out of a couple days months ahead of time, have news outlets report on it constantly and offer absolute trash deals or get people to buy your AI devices to further their dependence on you.

    2. We as customers are to blame. Once they realized they can offer bs and with strong marketing they can still sell a lot, all real black fridays or prime day deals etc went away. I saved countless items in my shopping cart/list separated in categories and literally nothing I wanted to buy went on a notable sale. One Spigen wall USB C charger showed 50% discount so I checked other sites for the same item and their regular price was lower than Amazon’s 50% off price.

You know it’s bad when it starts with “- Prime members globally saved billions across all categories”.

Prior years they have shared the figures. $xx billions sold. Seems like a record number of $1 items sold.

    4. A lot of the products jacked up their prices a few days/ weeks before and then showed the regular price as a “prime day deal”. They’re definitely playing some games. You still see how they played on camelcamelcamel

Probably a record number of returns as well… especially since Amazon would rather customers return and repurchase an item than do a price adjustment.

    6. I got a Lego set for 33% off. Was a very good deal for me seeing as I wanted it anyway.

    7. Yet stock is going down… ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4260)![img](emote|t5_2th52|4267)

My wife contributed a fuck ton to this. My porch looked like a motherfucking Amazon delivery depot this morning.

Honey literally shows you the over 100 day prices for products. I checked a few and they cost more than a week ago so I’m not sure why anyone even buys anything in the two day period, it’s a scam.

There was some shit deals in Amazon MX, but there were some great ones. Not surprising but It could have been more if sellers werent suck cucks

One of my theories for why the economy is so resilient is Americans keep spending money as if its coming out their ass. People will buy junk they don’t need because it’s on “sale”.

That’s what happens when money printer goo brrrr!! Buying power goes down so more money required !

    13. Only reason I spent money on prime day was because I had a balance of $200 rotting in my account. I had a hard time finding something to spend that money on. Amazon really is full of cheap Chinese junk with fake reviews. Might aswell just get it from the source overseas for cheaper if you don’t mind waiting a few extra days. The deals are so weak, I was seeing items I had sitting in my saved list say something like 25% off, when in actuality it’s only a dollar cheaper that the price it was previously. That percent off doesn’t matter when they inflate the base price to make it seem like you are getting a deal.

I looked, usual junk twenty percent of some things. I needed tide and conditioner and guess what, not a single discount. Trash
