I am direct commissioning in September, will be taking PCS leave in august. I am not receiving bah/bas since I’m an enlisted and not married. Is it possible to receive bah/bas since I will be pcsing and not living in the barracks?

    1. If you aren’t in the barracks, yes. I don’t know what PCS leave is though…that doesn’t exist. It’s just normal leave.

    2. Contrary to /u/KCPilot17 and /u/dumbducky, I don’t think you’ll get BAH, but you should get BAS. On BAH, see [DoD FMR Vol 7A, Chap 26, Table 26-26, rule 10](https://comptroller.defense.gov/Portals/45/documents/fmr/current/07a/07a_26.pdf) (my emphasis):

      > [If a Service member is] in travel status during a PCS, including a non-travel status under a permissive travel authorization, a TDY en route, leave en route, and proceed time, [Then BAH or OHA accrues] if the Service member is not assigned Government quarters while at the old or new PDS, but **BAH or OHA does not accrue if the Service member is assigned Government quarters while at the old or new PDS**.

For BAS, see [DoD FMR Vol 7A, Chap 25, para 2.2.2.2](https://comptroller.defense.gov/Portals/45/documents/fmr/current/07a/07a_25.pdf):

      > Enlisted members on authorized leave (including proceed time, authorized delays enroute between duty stations chargeable as leave, and convalescent leave) are entitled to the standard enlisted BAS rate, regardless of the BAS rate authorized at their Permanent Duty Station (PDS).
