I’m currently looking to get out of a lease that went sideways because the property was in terrible condition upon arrival (trash all over the property, junk left all around the house, including someone’s laundry left in the dryer, dirty water fixtures and a/c completely out etc etc) violating the lease agreement (which we signed two weeks prior).
My wife and I brought up all the issues to the property manager the same night we arrived and she acknowledged the a/c, but she then proceeded to lie about a walkthrough and even blame us for some of the mess and ignored the rest. Needless to say we haven’t stayed there at all and we’re looking to break the lease.
We found out that the landlord is active duty military and my question was if there were any procedures about informing their command or my command?

In general the military chain of command won’t want to get involved in a civil matter unless there’s outright fraud involved or illegal activity. The solution is in civil court if it gets to that.
